Aristocrat has been the leading supplier of gaming machines to casinos and clubs for decades, with Buffalo and Lightning Link among the most recognised machine brands on any casino floor. Its scale rests on the Australian club and hotel gaming machine market and on the American casino market.
The company moved into digital in two directions. Mobile free-to-play games gave it a large consumer business with no gambling licence attached, and the acquisition of NeoGames in 2024 brought it a real-money online platform, content and lottery capability in one step, now operating as Aristocrat Interactive.
The cross-channel argument applies here as strongly as anywhere: a machine brand that millions of players recognise from a physical floor is an acquisition asset online that no purely digital studio can replicate.
Manufacturers of gaming machines, lottery systems and casino equipment, most of which now run digital divisions as well. The engineering and compliance culture of the online industry comes largely from this sector.
