The oldest independent gaming test laboratory, accredited across a long list of jurisdictions.
BMM Testlabs was founded in 1981, before the online industry existed, to test land-based gaming equipment, and it carried that work across to online systems as regulated markets appeared. It holds accreditation in a large number of jurisdictions, which matters because a certificate is only useful if the destination regulator recognises the laboratory that issued it.
The practical reason suppliers use more than one laboratory is jurisdictional coverage and queue length. Certification sits on the critical path of a game release, so a studio planning a launch across several markets manages laboratory capacity as a scheduling problem.
Independent laboratories that test games, random number generators and platforms against each jurisdiction's technical standard. No licensed market accepts a game into service without a certificate from one of them.
