The largest testing laboratory in the sector, and the author of technical standards used by many regulators.
Gaming Laboratories International tests games, random number generators, platforms and systems against the technical standard of whichever jurisdiction the product is destined for. No licensed market allows a game into service without a certificate of this kind, which makes the laboratories an unavoidable step between a finished game and a player.
The company has also written technical standards that regulators adopt directly. Where a jurisdiction lacks the resources to draft its own specification, it can reference a published GLI standard, with the result that a privately authored document becomes a regulatory requirement in many places at once. The standards covering interactive gaming systems and event wagering are the ones most often cited.
Certification is not a single event. A change to a game, a platform update or a new market configuration requires fresh testing, which is why change management procedures are themselves part of what gets certified.
Independent laboratories that test games, random number generators and platforms against each jurisdiction's technical standard. No licensed market accepts a game into service without a certificate from one of them.
