A sports data company that supplies both the betting industry and the sports bodies that police it.
Sportradar collects what happens during matches across a very large number of competitions, from the top professional leagues down to minor divisions, and sells the resulting data to bookmakers, broadcasters and sports organisations. For many operators it also runs the pricing and risk management, which means the bookmaker is not setting its own odds at all.
Its integrity business monitors betting patterns for signs of manipulation and reports them to sports governing bodies and law enforcement. The same data that prices a market also reveals when the market behaves impossibly, which is why the monitoring work sits with the data companies rather than with the sports themselves.
The dual role is the interesting part structurally: the company sells to the betting industry and to the bodies that investigate it, and the credibility of the second depends on the independence of the first.
Companies that collect what happens in a match, turn it into priced markets, and sell both the feed and the risk management around it. They also sit at the centre of sporting integrity monitoring.
