A supplier that provides the whole stack: the platform, the games, the live studios and the sportsbook.
Playtech was founded in Estonia in 1999 and built its business on a different proposition from the content studios: rather than selling games into someone else's platform, it sells the platform itself, with its own games attached. Its player account management system, generally referred to as IMS, handles accounts, wallets, bonusing, reporting and the compliance tooling an operator needs in each market.
The company runs structured commercial arrangements in which it takes a share of an operator's revenue in exchange for supplying the technology and sometimes the marketing, which places it closer to a joint venture partner than a vendor in some markets. It has used that model to enter Latin America and to support land-based casino groups moving online in the United States.
Playtech also owns live casino studios, poker and bingo networks and a retail betting terminal business, and it sold its Italian operator Snaitech in a transaction that completed in 2025, returning the group to a purely business-to-business shape.
The systems layer: player account management, wallets, bonusing, reporting, compliance tooling, and the single integration that gives an operator access to thousands of games from hundreds of studios.
