A studio and aggregator in one, distributing third-party studios alongside its own slots.
Relax Gaming operates on two sides of the same business. It builds its own slots, of which Money Train is the best known, and it also runs aggregation programmes that bring other studios' content to operators through a single integration: Silver Bullet for established studios and Powered By for smaller ones that need commercial and technical support to reach distribution at all.
That dual role makes the company a useful window on how the content market actually works. A studio with a good game but no distribution has nothing; aggregation is the mechanism by which independent studios reach operators without negotiating hundreds of separate integrations, and the commercial terms of those programmes determine which games players ever see.
The company is owned by the operator group Kindred, which means it sells content to operators that compete with its parent, an arrangement that is more common in this industry than in most.
The companies that design and build the games themselves, principally slots. They are paid a share of the revenue their games generate rather than a licence fee, which is why a studio's commercial fortunes depend on a small number of titles performing across many operators.
